(EXCLUSIVE) NFL legend Emmitt Smith Reaches Settlement in $50K Lawsuit Accusing Him of Defrauding a Company
The lawsuit explained that Redi-Mix delivered various items of goods, wares and merchandise on various dates to Emmitt’s company which were worth a total of $46,448.65
Redi-Mix said that Emmitt claimed that he promised to pay for the items they delivered to him. They also stated that Emmitt was paid for the jobs he did using their materials and therefore they wanted their money ASAP.
The company accused Emmitt of committing fraud and purposely screwing them out of their $50K — and filed suit for the $46K due on their invoices + damages and attorney fees.
Emmitt denied the allegations that he committed fraud in court docs filed shortly after he was slapped with the lawsuit. However, despite his claims he did nothing wrong he reached a confidential settlement with the company shortly before the case was headed to go before the judge.
The deal the former NFL star reached has both parties had them agree to dismiss all claims against Emmitt and the entire case has been settled once and for all.
