Sherri Shepherd Says She Was “Scared” of Her Ex-Husband Leaving

In a new interview with PEOPLE, Sherri Shepherd (who is rumored to return to The View this fall), speaks honestly about her split from her ex husband, Lamar Sally.

My situation was a sense of, I didn’t state what I needed and what I wanted and what I didn’t want for being scared of somebody leaving the relationship. There are consequences to everything, but I was scared to say, ‘That’s not going to work for me. I don’t want that.’

As previously reported, the former married couple had been legally battling over the financial responsibility of their now 1 year-old son, who was conceived via surrogacy using Sally’s sperm and a donor egg (after their split).
