Kanye West To Receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award
Great news for Yeezy! Kanye West will receive the MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The rapper, songwriter, producer and fashion designer (whew, that’s a lot of titles!) will have the lifetime achievement award bestowed upon him at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in honor of his profound body of work in music, fashion and art.
As you know, Kanye is brilliant at stealing the spotlight and interrupting award shows. You’ll recall at this year’s Grammys, Mr. West went on a rant telling the Grammys,
I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more.
And in 2009, most of us remember the iconic moment when he told Taylor Swift,
I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce had the best video of all time.
