Eddie Murphy Honored By Kennedy Center + Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Trevor Noah, Dave Chappelle Lend Their Support [Photos]
On Sunday night, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts honored Eddie Murphy. The comedian, film star, producer and director received the nation’s top prize for humor.
Famous comics including Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, Kathy Griffin, Arsenio Hall, Trevor Noah and Whitney Cummings honored Murphy with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
Other big comedic name stars from “Saturday Night Live” — Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, Jay Pharoah, Kevin Nealon and Joe Piscopo — paid tribute.
Morgan gave an emotional tribute, referring to Murphy a his “comedic hero.”
He’s the reason I’m in comedy. He’s the reason I have a job. He’s the reason I have a career.
