#BlackOnCampus Erupts on Twitter
On Wednesday, the hashtag #BlackOnCampus erupted on Twitter — coming on the heels of the claims of racism at the University of Missouri.
Reportedly, the #BlackOnCampus hashtag was created by Mizzou’s ConcernedStudent1950 organization, which says it’s represented every black student at the university since 1950, when the first black student was admitted.
Tweets are pouring in of claims of racism on college campuses across the country. Some students tweet stories of being racially profiled, or fearing for their own safety — especially in cases where the majority of the campus is white.
