Being Mary Jane Snags 4th Season
BET’s Being Mary Jane is returning for a fourth season. The network’s president of programming, Stephen G. Hill, made the announcement on Wednesday at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour.
Reportedly, for its third season this fall, in Nielsen’s “live plus-3” estimates, “Being Mary Jane” averaged 2.1 million viewers, a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and a 1.1 in adults 18-34. It ranked among the top five scripted cable series in all categories every week it aired.
Being Mary Jane is a drama series created by Mara Brock Akil and starring Gabrielle Union. The series follows professional and personal life of successful TV news anchor Máry Jane Paul who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
The show will begin production this summer in Atlanta.
