Ice Cube Talks Suge Knight Drama & Oscar Snub: I’m not surprised. [VIDEO]
This week, Ice Cube stopped by The Wendy Williams Show to talk about, Ride Along 2, Straight Outta Compton, Suge Knight and being overlooked by the Oscar’s.
Wendy and Ice Cube talked about the Oscar nomination for Best Original Screen Play for Straight Outta Compton, with Wendy telling Ice Cube,
I thought you guys would get more.
Ice Cube replied,
Me too! I’m not pissed. I’m not surprised. It’s the Oscars, they do what they do. The people loved the movie, the people supported the movie, it was number one at the box office over $200 million worldwide. I can’t be mad, you know.
Ice Cube also opened up about Suge showing up on set while they were filming Straight Outta Compton and the fatal hit and run accident. Wendy asked,
What is going on?
He replied,
Nothing he wanted to come up there and have a meeting. I thought it was going to be a good meeting. You know, it went left. Security got involved and it just went left.
Ice Cube said that he never actually saw him face-to-face that day.
Wendy and Ice Cube also discussed the more recent rap feuds. She asked,
What do you think about that feud between Meek Mill and Drake?
To this, Ice Cube replied:
It’s a good one, as long as they keep it on wax, it’s always fun. You keep it in the music, you don’t take it to the street, take it to the club. It’s all good because that ain’t a rap battle, that’s just a fight. So as long as they keep it on wax, its fun and part of rap.
He also weighed in on Iggy Azalea versus everybody,
I don’t know too much about her. I can’t say I like her or not, I don’t know her music. I’m doing movies, I ain’t got time for that.
