Dr. Oz Reflects On Big Ang’s Death: She acknowledged that cigarettes killed her.
Reality TV star Big Ang, real name Angela Raiola, passed away early Thursday morning just days after her appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show” to talk about her battle with cancer.
“Extra’s” AJ Calloway was with Dr. Oz on the day following her death, as he reflected on the “Mob Wives” star’s death. Oz said,
I don’t think Big Ang knew it was going to be so soon, but I think Big Ang was scared.”
The doctor said she kept a brave face while relaying the two messages she wanted everyone to hear.
She didn’t want anybody to forget the anguish on her face when she acknowledged that cigarettes killed her, stripped her life from her, that she lost decades that she could have spent with people she loved. I think that’s the number one thing that needs to get out about her legacy.
He continued,
The second part of her message was about her family, how dear they were to her, and in the darkest times you appreciate the people that love you the most. It’s also when you make your bravest decisions like her decision to leave her husband. He wasn’t there for her, she thought she was taking care of him all the time and this was a time she needed to take care of herself.”
Oz said he did talk to her family via text message. They were by her side yesterday and had told him she only had hours left. Big Ang entered a Manhattan hospital the day she was supposed to start her immunotherapy since the chemotherapy was no longer working.
She went in the hospital with breathing problems and ultimately it probably caused her loss, her demise.
She was diagnosed with throat cancer last March, and later stage IV brain and lung cancer.
