Ava DuVernay to Direct ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ + Partners with Ryan Coogler for Flint Benefit
Ava DuVernay is directing Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time” movie adaptation, according to Variety.
The story follows children as they travel through time and visit strange worlds in order to find their missing scientist father. Jennifer Lee is writing the adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s book for Disney.
And in other news, both Ava DuVernay and director Ryan Coogler will be missing in action Sunday during the Oscar’s. The pair, along with Hannibal Buress, Janelle Monae and Jesse Williams are participating in a #JUSTICEFORFLINT event.
Founded by Coogler and hosted by Buress, the event is open to the public and presented by Blackout for Human Rights. It comes with residents of Flint dealing with lead contamination in their tap water.
