White House Is Cool With Larry Wilmore Calling President Obama ‘N-Word’

It’s all good between President Obama, the White House and comedian Larry Wilmore. In fact, on Monday, the White House said that Obama wasn’t offended by Larry Wilmore’s use of the N-word at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, during his Roast.

According to NBC News, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that he’d spoken to Obama about the remark ahead of Monday’s daily briefing for reporters and that the president “said that he appreciated the spirit of the sentiments that Mr. Wilmore expressed.” He added,

Any reading of his comments made clear that he was not using the president as a butt of a joke. I take Mr. Wilmore at his words that he found that to be a powerful transformation just in his lifetime and something he seemed to be pretty obviously proud of.
