Garcelle Beauvais Joins ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
The cast of the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios picture continues to add to its diverse cast. According to Deadline, Garcelle Beauvais has joined the cast. Her specific role is being kept a secret.
Beauvais joins a cast that already includes Donald Glover, Zendaya, Abraham Attah and Bokeem Woodbine.
Beauvais is a Haitian-American actress and former fashion model.
She is best known for her roles as Francesca “Fancy” Monroe on The WB television sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran from 1996 to 2001, and as Valerie Heywood on the ABC crime drama, NYPD Blue. In 2016 she was named as one of the co-hosts of the syndicated infotainment series Hollywood Today Live after a month-long period of guest hosting the show.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is an upcoming superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures, and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It is intended to be the second reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise and the sixteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, and Robert Downey Jr. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker tries to balance his life as a high school student while also being the hero Spider-Man.
It is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2017.
