Zendaya Lands A Lead In Spiderman Reboot
Exciting news for Zendaya Coleman. Sony and Marvel Studios are beginning to cast up its Spider-Man reboot. According to Deadline, the actress/singer has landed a key role in the ensemble they are building around Tom Holland, who’ll play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film to be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car).
According to the site, she was among the actresses who’ve quietly been testing for roles and she will play a character named Michelle. The film will be released July 7, 2017, and it’s produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.
Zendaya’s role in Hollywood continues to blossom. She’s most known for her 2009 role in the Disney Channel series Shake It Up, as Rocky Blue. Several of the songs she performed on the show were released as singles, including 2011’s “Watch Me”, a duet with her co-star Bella Thorne that charted at number 86 on Billboard Hot 100.
Early in 2013, Zendaya was cast on the sixteenth season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, becoming the show’s youngest contestant at 16 and placing runner-up. In 2015, Zendaya returned to Disney and began starring in the Disney Channel original series K.C. Undercover as the lead character, K.C. Cooper.
