Kim Kardashian Explains How She Snagged The Tech World
Ever since the Kardashian clan hit the scene with their hit reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian-West has been a force to be reckoned with. Nobody exactly knew where the most famous Kardashian would end up after the fall out the infamous sex tape with her then boyfriend, singer Ray J. But somehow, almost a decade later, this 35-year-old mother of two has managed to take Hollywood by storm with her countless endorsements, fashion lines and fashion cosigns from some of the top designers in the world. Not to mention, she married one of the most outspoken rappers of our time.
Mrs. Kardashian-West, who has slowly taken over the mobile app world with her game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, took the world by storm in 2013 and managed to be the top paid app over the past three years. Now, with the release of her latest mobile app effort Kimoji’s, Kim is becoming one of the few mobile moguls in this digital age. She’s snagged the cover of FORBES, a first for the reality star. Peep some of the excerpts from the story.
On how she entered the tech world:
I became really intrigued with the tech world. I started spending a lot of time in San Francisco. I realized this is really going to be the next cycle of my career and this is what I want to focus on.
On what Kanye thought of the idea of her entering the gaming world:
I loved videogames, growing up. I remember I asked Kanye, ‘Should I do this?’ He was like, ‘Yes!’ That’s how he got into music, because he wanted to do music for videogames and wanted to create videogames.
On if had doubts on if her people would like the game:
I was like, ‘I wonder if people are really going to … mimic my life.’
On how the public looks at her:
When people looked at me in a way like, ‘Why is she stepping into the tech world? That’s not her territory! Stick to reality TV!’ I was like, ‘No.’ This is fun for me. Now I’m coming up with Kimojis and the app and all these other ideas. I don’t see myself stopping.

Kim has undoubtedly made an impact in the mobile gaming world as of this past year, FORBES named her No. 42 on the Celebrity 100 List with her earnings of $51 million dollars and 40% of her earnings last year came from her mobile app game. Click here to read more.
