Karrueche Tran Cast In TNT ‘Claws’
Karrueche Tran’s acting resume continues to blossom. The model and actress will co-star opposite Niecy Nash in TNT’s new pilot, Claws. The scripted hourlong dramedy is set in a Southern Florida nail salon, from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train.
Claws is said to be reminiscent of Desperate Housewives, as it follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.
In her first series regular TV role, Tran will play manicurist Virginia. Full of attitude, she has been filling in at the nail salon and makes no effort to hide her boredom and impatience with the job. As previously reported, Nash plays Desna Simms, the owner of the salon. Nash also shared her excitement about Tran’s new gig. Sharing a picture of them together on set, she wrote:
@karrueche worked very hard to to get the role of Virginia in my new #TNT show #Claws ! #Trained#Studied #UpAgainst50girls So proud of you lil mama! #GetReady this is gonna be a crazy ride! ? #HardWorkPaysOff
Tran co-starred in and produced The Bay digital series, sharing in the show’s best Digital Daytime Drama series Emmy. She recently starred in the movie A Weekend with the Family.
