Kerry Washington Refuses to Follow People On Social Media: It’s the Jay Z in me.
In a new interview, Scandal star Kerry Washington explains why she’s taken a break from social media. Check out a few excerpts from her interview, explaining her decision to throw up the deuces momentarily.
Why she doesn’t follow anyone on social media:
It’s the Jay-Z in me.
Why she felt the need to take a break:
I started to feel overwhelmed, like there was too much noise. I felt like I had to get back to who Kerry really is.
What contributed to the social media break:
I felt like I needed to create a little more stillness around me. There’s something about pregnancy, that willingness to take up more space in the world—that is liberating.
What makes her confident:
I always think of myself as I confident person. But tI think I try to stay focused on the positive, and I try to stay true to myself. I try not to focus on being who other people want me to be. I don’t excel at that. I’m not really good at being who other people want me
to be. I’m good at being myself.
