Mary J. Blige Working On Post Divorce Album
It’s gonna be lit! Or at least that’s the word that came time mind when we heard that Mary J. Blige is in the studio cooking up a new album. As you know, Blige and her husband/manager Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs have split. And despite her love life not going as planned, she’s going full throttle with a new album. Celebrity chef to the stars, Chef Roble, confirmed on Twitter that a new album is on the way.
Blige’s rep also confirmed the news in a statement last month:
Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.
As previously reported, after 12 years of marriage, Blige filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. It is being reported that Blige has no interest in paying spousal support. The couple, who married in 2003, have no children.
