theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, rapper Young Dro is in serious legal trouble once again after being arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm while near a school and for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. This incident is a violation of his 3-year probation in the criminal case where he narrowly avoided being locked up for 10 years.

The rapper – real name Djuan Montreal Hart – was charged with 1 count of ‘theft by conversion’ last year in DeKalb County, Georgia.

The court documents explained back in 2015, Dro lawfully obtained a vehicle, owned by a woman named Jennifer Douthitt – which had a value of $25k+ under the agreement to return the car at a specific time, but he knowingly converted property to his own use in violation of their agreement — basically he failed to return the woman’s car when he promised.

The case had been pending for over a year until the rapper was sentenced on May 27th. He pled guilty to the charge and reached a plea where he narrowly escaped jail time and was sentenced to only 3 years’ probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. The rapper was facing 10 years in prison for the charge.

Then on August 29th, a warrant was issued for the rapper’s arrest due to him violating the terms of his probation — due to him being arrested by Georgia Southern University Police on August 26th.

Per his sentence, the rapper was to not be arrested or violate any criminal laws or he would be in violation of his probation, which could result in Dro being sentenced to the full 10 years he was facing originally before he got off with 3-years probation.

The warrant explained that Dro had been arrested twice since being sentenced in this case. The recent arrest was by the Georgia Southern University Police who arrested him on charges of carrying a weapon within school safety zones without a license along with a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a schedule V controlled substance (usually a prescription medicine).

The police also found marijuana on him and hit him with another charge for possession of less than 1 oz.

Dro’s 2nd arrest came back in July when he was locked up and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance along with the misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), sale/distribution or possession of dangerous drugs, possession of open alcohol container, failure to obey stop sign, driving without a valid license, drugs not in original container and driving while license suspended or revoked.

The case is still pending in Georgia Court and the felony drug charge carries a minimum sentence of 2 years and maximum of 15 years in prison.

He posted $20k bond and was released shortly after his arrest. Dro will soon face a judge in that case as well.

Further, the probation officer points out that he failed to abstain from illegal drug use, saying the rapper failed a drug test in June when he tested positive for marijuana and Benzodiazepine. He is also accused of failing to pay court-ordered assessments in full.

The warrant was issued on August 29th and it is unclear if the rapper has been picked up by local law enforcement yet.
