Mary J. Blige Comes Out Swinging With ‘Thick of It’ [New Music]
Mary J. Blige is already sharing new music with her fans. Over the weekend, while performing in Connecticut, she performed a new track called ‘Thick Of It‘. She belts out:
Cuz I ain’t no quitter baby
And I’ll be damned if all these years I’ve let you diss me babe
I was there when no one wanted to stay with you baby
You know I deserve more than this
So tell me who?
Whose gonna love, you like I do?
Watch a clip of her performance below.
‘Thick of It‘ is the first bit of new music that fans have heard since Blige announced her divorce to manager Kendu Isaacs. In August, the couple announced their split and shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that she’d be going full throttle with a new album. Celebrity chef to the stars, Chef Roble, confirmed on Twitter that a new album is on the way.
As previously reported, after 12 years of marriage, Blige filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. It is being reported that Blige has no interest in paying spousal support. The couple, who married in 2003, have no children.
Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.
