Lala Anthony’s “Power” Character Was NOT Killed Off (Spoiler Alert)
Lala Anthony’s “Power” Character Was NOT Killed Off
It looks like Lala Anthony’s character on “Power” LaKeisha will return for season 4. This week, we spotted her filming with Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy. If you watched last season, it was speculated that she was killed off and may not be returning.
50 Cent chimed in on our Instagram post and said viewers shouldn’t be 100% sure that LaKeisha wasn’t offed. He wrote:
How do you know it’s not a flash back, see you have to watch POWER to know what’s going on. lol
Earlier this month, we spotted Power’s Omari Hardwick (aka Ghost) filming a court scene where he appears in an orange jail jumpsuit.
This summer, Starz was renewed for seasons four and five. The news came after the drama’s third season opener scored record numbers for the network.
Reportedly, the season three premiere drew record numbers with 2.26 million live-plus-same-day viewers. The rise in viewership was also a promising sign for Starz as Power was the network’s first original series to make the move from Saturday to Sunday evenings in a bid to compete with pay cablers HBO and Showtime.
Creator Courtney A. Kemp exec produces, along with Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, Gary Lennon and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who also co-stars along side Omari Hardwick.
In addition to the two-season renewal, Starz also has overall deals with both Kemp and Jackson. Kemp says,
Chris Albrecht and the Starz team have believed in this show from the very beginning. Everyone here at ‘Power’ is deeply grateful for the tremendous support we have received from the fans of the show, which made today’s announcement possible. I am humbled by this vote of confidence from the network and the opportunity to continue to employ our excellent cast and crew, who work tirelessly to bring this show to life.
Added Jackson:
I knew ‘Power’ was going to be something special from the first concept meeting I had with Mark Canton. The fans support for the show has been the driving force of its success and I can’t wait to bring them two more seasons full of action and suspense.
