Dave Chappelle’s new comedy special was a major win for Netflix. The streaming service recently announced that the comedian’s special was the most viewed comedy special for them ever. They stated,

The triumphant return of a comedy legend in Dave Chappelle: Collection 1 was our most viewed comedy special ever. We are also finding this to be true in international markets as well, with comedian Gad Elmaleh’s Gad Gone Wild, a breakout hit in France last quarter.

Chappelle was reportedly paid an $60 million for the specials. This is said to include one more that has yet to be released.

Reportedly, comedian Chris Rock has allegedly been paid $40 million for two upcoming specials after Netflix got into a bidding war with cable rival HBO.
