‘Still Star-Crossed’ Debuts w/ Poor Ratings

Shonda Rhimes’ new Shondaland drama, Still Star-Crossed’ made its debut Monday night, debuting with less than impressive ratings. According to Nielsen data, the drama drew in a mere 0.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.4 million viewers, airing at 10 p.m. The struggling ratings may have been caused by it being debuted on Memorial Day. It is also a summer series, which often draw lower viewership.

Still Star-Crossed is an American period drama and is based on the book with the same name by Melinda Taub. The series produced by Shonda Rhimes’ ShondaLand and ABC Studios. Following the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Rosaline Capulet is betrothed against her will to Benvolio Montague by Prince Escalus, who hopes to end the bitter feud between their families. The two set out to find a way to prevent the arranged marriage and, at the same time, prevent the destruction of their families.
