Mary J. Blige Empowers Women, Blasts Cheating Ex
Mary J. Blige and her revenge body have officially arrived. Over the weekend, the 46-year-old soul singer took her talents to Essence Festival, performing on the main stage Saturday (July 1st).
Her set, which was well over an hour, including an endless number of hits, along with some tracks from her new album, Strength of A Woman.
Rocking waist-length, blonde braids, and an insanely toned body, the night was all about women empowerment. At one point, she told the audience,
Ladies, I’m going to talk to the guys tonight for y’all. You can only have one queen, not two queens, not three queens. One queen. Take care of home and you’ll be alright.
While MJB didn’t mention her estranged husband/manager Kendu Isaacs by name, her set seemed to to take a few shots at their messy split. Alluding to rumors of infidelity, during one of her tracks, she add-libbed,
How is it that somebody gets to cheat, then destroy everybody’s life, but I’ve got to pay your for it? That ain’t fair!
