Lee Daniels ‘Star’ Lands Additional Episodes
Fox is continuing with one of its hit series, Star. Reportedly, the network has ordered five additional episodes of Lee Daniels’ girl group drama. The order brings Star’s season two total to 18 episodes, which happens to be the same as Daniels’ other Fox drama Empire.
Star’s season two run is now being paired with Empire on Wednesdays and ratings have reportedly jumped 20 percent for the season two premiere versus the season one finale. According to Fox, the season two opener has amassed more than 7.5 million multi-platform viewers, with seven days of delayed viewing factored in.

Star is a musical drama television series created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy for Fox. It revolves around three talented young singers who navigate the music business on their road to success.
The series, which is set in Atlanta, consists of original music, along with musical fantasy sequences, as dreams of the future. Twelve episodes were ordered, which premiered during the 2016–2017 television season. Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown co-star.
