Nelly Rape Case Dropped

Nelly can officially breathe a sigh of relief. According to reports, Washington state prosecutors can’t proceed with their rape case against the rapper, so it will be dropped. The alleged victim, a 21-year-old college student, refused to cooperate with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. This made it difficult to go forward and charge him with a crime.

As previously reported, the alleged victim claimed the rapper assaulted her on his tour bus at a Walmart. She later told police she didn’t want to press charges. A statement from the victim’s lawyer said,

She wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her. She never wanted notoriety. She never wanted a dime from that man. She wants to go back to school and to graduate.

Nelly’s attorney maintained his innocence calling the allegations “false” and a “fabrication.”
