‘Black Lightning’ Premieres to Major Ratings
Congratulations are in order for the new hit series, ‘Black Lightning’. On Tuesday, it premiered bringing in impressive numbers. They snagged 2.31 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers are the highest for any non-crossover episode of TV in the 9pm Tuesday night slot this season.
This marks the biggest success The CW has had at that time in quite a while. In fact, it was the most-watched series premiere for The CW since Legends of Tomorrow hauled in 3.2 million a couple of years ago.
Black Lightning is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It was developed by Salim Akil and is executive produced by wife, Mara Brock Akil. It stars Cress Williams as the titular character alongside China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin Jones III, Damon Gupton, and James Remar. The series sees the retired Black Lightning return to the hero life and its effects on his family life.

This was sooooooo good. Made me wish it was on Netflix or Hulu so that I could bing watch, plus Netflix and Hulu woult have given them more room to be uncensored. Plus the Akils always bring the heat.
Really? I am going to check it out then! Thanks!
Yea…it’s well written. You know the Akils did the Game, Being May Jane, etc. Those shows didn’t fail until the Akils left. This show is really good and I’m not just saying that cause I support my people…the cast is amazing…they have everyone, including an Albino. You don’t see shows with this much variety in races.
Oh wow! I definitely need something to watch, so this one is on the list!
