The series sees the retired Black Lightning return to the hero life and its effects on his family life.

'Black Lightning' Premieres to Major Ratings, Debuts Strongest CW Premiere in 2 Years

In January, the show premiered with impressive numbers, snagging 2.31 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers were the highest for any non-crossover episode of TV in the 9pm Tuesday night slot this season. In fact, it was the most-watched series premiere for The CW since Legends of Tomorrow hauled in 3.2 million a couple of years ago.
