Meek Mill – Judge Denies Bail, Rapper To Stay In Jail
Unfortunately, Meek Mill has taken another L in his quest for freedom. His legal team attempted to have him released on bail. Judge Genece Brinkley denied this request. The 30-year-old rapper has been in jail since November for probation violation.
Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, and his team insist that Brinkley has a personal vendetta against Meek. Tacopina states,
In spite of the recommendations from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, which was supported by Governor Tom Wolf, the judge continues to stand alone in supporting Officer Reginald Graham’s perjured testimony as well as his criminal behavior that has been documented.
Brinkley has denied that she has done anything wrong in the case and defends giving Meek a 2-4 year sentence. She notes that it was his 5th probation violation, Meek has admitted drug use and failed to adhere to travel protocol.
Meanwhile, the rapper’s legal team plans to appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
