Russell Simmons Says Woman Accusing Him Of Rape Sent Him Nudes After Alleged Incident
Russell Simmons is defending himself against accuser Jennifer Jarosik, who claims she was raped by the mogul. In January, she filed a $5 million dollar lawsuit against Simmons. In a court filing, Simmons says that their sexual relationship was consensual and he claims to have the text messages to prove it. He also says that she has sent him nudes, after the alleged incident. His docs state,
“On September 24, 2016, mere weeks after the incident alleged in the Complaint, Ms. Jarosik sent a text to Mr. Simmons stating “Sending love <3.” “A few days later, she sent a text that said “I miss u Russell. r u ok?” On November 5, 2016, after allegedly being assaulted by Mr. Simmons, Ms. Jarosik sent Mr. Simmons a text that said “Coming to l a. I want to see u ok.” Mr. Simmons ignored each of these texts. Additionally, Ms. Jarosik sent Mr. Simmons unsolicited nude photos after the alleged 2016 incident.”
According to Jarosik’s original lawsuit the two met in 2006, with Simmons befriending the aspiring filmmaker. Ten years later, the suit alleges, she was invited by Simmons to his home in Los Angeles. Upon arrival, he asked her to have sex. She said no. [Click here for the backstory].
“Simmons got aggressive,” the suit states, and, in a struggle, ultimately knocked her off his bed. Jarosik “hit her head and then (Simmons) pounced on her while she was still in shock and fear, and proceeded to rape her.”
Over a dozen women have come forward with allegations against Simmons in recent months. In March, an unidentified woman filed a $10 million lawsuit against the entrepreneur accusing him of rape. Simmons has vehemently denied all accusations of non-consensual sex.
