Lauryn Hill Raps Over Drake’s “Nice For What”
To most, Lauryn Hill is a musical legend. In commemoration of the 20th anniversary for the release of her classic album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” the “Ready of Not” singer is hitting the road this summer. As a member of the Fugees and a decorated solo artist, Ms. Hill was one of the most dominant musical figures of the ’90s and the first hip-hop artist to take home a Grammy for Album of the Year.
With a North American tour that begins on July 5 in Virginia and includes two Canadian stops, she recently played a one-off at Harlem’s historic Apollo Theatre. Considering at 13 she was booed on Amateur Night at the Apollo, it has to feel good to be performing her classics at the famed venue.
While singing “Ex-Factor” she incorporated part of Drake’s hit song “Nice For What” which samples “Ex-Factor”. Lauryn wants to remind fans that she is the original rapping of Drizzy’s beat,
See this is ‘Ex-Factor’/He took the sample/My shit is classic/Here’s an example.
