John Legend, Chrissy Teigen Troll Donald Trump By Donating Over $200,000 To ACLU
Chrissy Teigen is known for persistently trolling President Donald Trump on Twitter, but John Legend has now joined in on the fun too. The Stephens (Legend’s real last name) family recently announced they donated a large sum of money to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to aide in the fight against the policy changes made by the Trump administration.
Legend and Teigen posted a message to their social media, informing their followers of the discomfort their family has received from the recent coverage,
[We] are outraged to see and hear the horror stories of immigrant families seeking asylum and refuge in America being ripped apart due to the inhumane policies of the Trump administration.

Since the igniting of new policies, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), immigrant families are being snatched away from their loved ones. The money donated will not only help the ACLU with the fight against immigrants, but the ACLU is also
advocating for reproductive rights, voting rights, criminal justice reform, LGBT rights, 1st amendment rights, and holding the Trump administration accountable whenever possible.
Happy birthday, @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/WVnUhYDPJk
— John Legend (@johnlegend) June 14, 2018
The family concluded the note by stating,
On this auspicious occasion, in order to Make Trump’s Birthday Great Again, each member is donating $72,000 to the ACLU.
The significance about the number and day is because June 14 was Trump’s 72nd birthday. With a contribution of $72,000 from four people, the Stephens family will be contributing a whopping $288,000!
The pair also encouraged their followers to donate whatever they could to the organization. Finishing out with,
If you you would like to donate $7.20, $72, or whatever you like to the ACLU in honor of this blessed day, please go to www.aclu.org/72.
