‘This Is Us’ Star Lonnie Chavis Shares Message On Bullying

Actor Lonnie Chavis is a young leader in the making. The 10-year-old star of NBC’s hit series This Is Us star took to social media to share his experiences with bullying and negative comments he receives from the public. Chavis posted a video on his Instagram page with the caption,

PSA! Yes I have a gap in my teeth, that braces can fix when all my baby teeth fall out. I’m gonna keep on smiling though. STOP TROLLING! STOP BULLYING! Fix your heart! To all those being bullied or being trolled YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE AWESOME, and YOU MATTER! #FixYourHeart.

In the video Lonnie addressed bullying and the mean and negative comments regarding people who have made fun of his gap.

All the trolls that have been trolling in my comments, talking about my gap! Trolling period!!”. He continued on saying, “I mean I can get my gap fixed. Like braces can fix this. But can you fix your heart though?” He proceeded on, “I mean like there are kids out here killing themselves like just because of y’all hating and trolling and….and doing crazy stuff. I mean it’s stupid!! I mean is it fun? No!! It hurts people. People kill themselves and your the one making them do it.

He then went on to say,

I mean fix y’all heart though! For real!! I mean I’m happy I can handle this. I can handle this. I’m not tripping, but…but there are kids out here like if y’all kids are watching this, like don’t trip!! Be who you wanna be. Do what you wanna do. Do you. Be you. Believe in yourself!

Lonnie’s video really touched a lot of people and it caused some very kind and inspirational commentary between followers. TV Personality/actress Lala Anthony left some words of encouragement under his post.

U inspire me. I sent this to my son Kiyan. This is a message he and other kids need to hear. Thank u for this truth. Continue to shine.

Another follower left a comment saying,

One fan was deeply touched by what he shared and left this comment saying,

Another follower encouraged the young star not to close his gap.
