Research Finds That ‘Power’ Fans Are Getting Their Daily Dose Of Ghost On the Starz App
Power continues to draw in viewers. The show’s season five premiere on July 1st brought in 2.8 million streams on the Starz app. The linear channel brought in 1.55 million viewers, an 8% drop from season 4’s premiere last year.
What research has found is that fans are choosing to watch Power via the Starz app rather than on television. A lot of this is perceived to have something to do with the fact that Power is made available on the app at midnight, sixteen hours before the episode airs on television. However, that has been the practice for several seasons and still, season five’s viewings on the Starz app saw a 115% surge over season 4.
Power’s executive producer, Courtney Kemp Agboh actually predicted this would happen last year. She told Deadline that “linear numbers will no longer be relevant” and it appears that’s absolutely the case.
How do you get your Power fix each week, TV or Starz app?
