Denzel Washington Happy Son John David Quit Football & Started Acting: He Broke His Collar Bone & Had Multiple Concussions
John David Washington is following his father Denzel Washington‘s footsteps and taking acting seriously. The Ballers and Black Kklansman star played professional football for six years but his father is happy that he gave up that career. Denzel recently shared that he was relieved that he left the field behind.
He’s had I don’t know how many concussions, a broken collar bone, a torn up knee and Achilles [tendon]. No, I’m glad it’s over.

John David played D2 Football at Morehouse College. He was named National Player of the Week in 2005. The following year, Washington signed to the St. Louis Rams where he played for a year before being released. He then went on to play in NFL Europa for the Rhein Fire and then the Sacramento Mountain Lions.
