E.J. Johnson Addresses Best Friend Lyric McHenry’s Death
E.J. Johnson On Best Friend’s Death: “There will be no mourning post”
Everyone processes death differently. E.J. Johnson, reality star and son of basketball legend Magic Johnson, is choosing to mourn his best friend Lyric McHenry in his own way.
E.J. posted a sexy Instagram photo, flexing in a pair of daisy dukes and Calvin Klein sports bra. He used this caption “Glow up #teamthis”. Many followers and trolls alike wanted to know why he hadn’t created a tribute post to Lyric in the wake of her passing a few weeks ago. He clapped back, commenting:
“I’m going to make this clear to everyone there will be no mourning post because I’m not going to reduce a 25yr friendship to 1 Instagram post please respect my privacy and my process”
As we previously reported, Lyric, a Stanford graduate and producer on E.J.’s reality show “EJNYC,” was found deceased right above the Major Deegan Expressway in Bronx, New York. Police are suspecting McHenry died from a drug overdose, as she was found with an unspecified amount of cocaine on her person. She was estimated to be approximately 20 weeks pregnant. Lyric was 26-years-old.
We send our condolences and well-wishes to both E.J. Johnson and Lyric McHenry’s family and friends.
