Jason Mitchell Will Play NCAA Wrestling Champion Anthony Robles In Biopic
Jason Mitchell has secured another role! He’s starred in Netflix’s Mudbound and was the prolific Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton, and has also found a way to captivate audiences with his role of Lena Waithe’s, The Chi.
In addition to filming season two of the hit Showtime series, he will be getting prepared for his role as NCAA 2010-11 wrestling champion, Anthony Robles. With no release date set, the feature film will tell the story of tribulations and hardships Robles had to overcome based off his autobiography, Unstoppable: From Underdog To Undefeated: How I Became A Champion, which was published in 2012.

Straight Outta Compton
Robles story chronicles how he was born with one leg to a single parent household to becoming an undefeated collegiate wrestling champion at Arizona State. Oscar-winning editor, Billy Goldenberg is set to direct the film. Eric Champnella and John Hindman will be writing the scripts. The film is set to start filming in early 2019.
