Plies Arrested At Tampa Bay Airport After Gun Found In His Carry On Bag
It seems rappers are still not understanding that they must follow certain rules when traveling with a handgun in their carry on luggage. Plies, real name Algernod Washington, is the latest rapper to get popped for not following the rules.
The 42-year-old rapper was going through the security checkpoint at Tampa International Airport when TSA discovered that he had a Glock 43 9mm semiautomatic pistol and magazine in his carry-on bag. They did not immediately know if the weapon was loaded. See footage of the arrest below.

It’s against Florida law to carry a gun into an airport terminal and had Plies been able to produce a license, he probably would have avoided getting arrested. Plies was cuffed by TSA and taken to Hillsborough County jail where he was held on $2,000 bond.
Plies has yet to comment publicly on the arrest.
