50 Cent Signs New 4-Year Deal w/ Starz Estimated At $150 Mill, Biggest In Premium Cable History

50 Cent has taken the word power to another level. As 50 has earned the title as one of the executive producers on the hit Starz series, “Power,” he also recently signed a deal which is projected to be the “biggest in premium cable history.” Over the next four years, 50 will be creating and producing scripted and unscripted content exclusively for the network through his production company G-Unit Film and Television.

Included within the deal, 50 will have access to an optional fund for the development of projects for G-Unit, he will be able to offer insight on the merchandising and licensing of G-Unit developed content, and have permission to utilize distribution channels among Starz and it’s parent company Lionsgate.

When I sat down with Chris [Albrecht, CEO and president of Starz] and walked him through my plans for G-Unit Film and Television going forward, he let me know I was essentially requesting the biggest deal in premium cable history.  am excited to announce that we’ve made that partnership between myself, G-Unit Film and Television and Starz/Lionsgate, and we will continue our proven track record of breaking records and delivering unique content for audiences around the world.… Get The Strap.

The production company already has two shows in development for Starz, “Black Mafia Family” and “Vanguard.” Although Starz has declined to comment on the price of the deal, it is rumored to be around $150 million.
