Jason Mitchell Will Co-Star In ‘Zola’, Movie About Bizarre Trip w/ Prostitute
It’s been a busy few years for Jason Mitchell. The 31-year-old recently starred in Sony’s Superfly remake. He also co-starred in Showtime’s The Chi. He’s now landed a role, co-starring in the stripper saga film, Zola, according to reports.
As previously reported, the film is based on a series of tweets from Aziah ‘Zola’ Wells. In 2015, she made headlines when she began trending on twitter for recounting a bizarre 2-day Florida trip with a sex worker named Jessica, her boyfriend Jarrett, and Jessica’s violent pimp, who went by Z.
The film will be directed by Janicza Bravo and Taylour Paige will star as the title character, along with Riley Keough, Colman Domingo, and Nicholas Braun.
Jason’s other recent credits include the role of Easy-E in Universal’s Straight Outta Compton Mudbound, Kong: Skull Island, and Detroit.
