Damon Wayans Jr. Launches Production Company, New Series Ordered & Inks 1st Look Deal w/ CBS TV Studios
Damon Wayans Jr. is signing deals and cashing checks. The actor, who stars on the CBS comedy “Happy Together,” has launched a production company and already has a show ordered by the CW. The production company Two Shakes Entertainment is committed to working with diverse voices with a primary focus on pursuing protagonists who don’t traditionally get to be at the center of a show and bringing their stories to the screen as quickly as possible.
Jordon Nardino will write for the new series, “Glamours,” which will be about a gender non-conforming high school graduate who lands an internship at a Manhattan cosmetics company whose products he critiqued on YouTube. While he’s ecstatic for the once in a lifetime opportunity, not everyone is happy to see him at the company, and they are doing everything to take him down.
Wayans Jr. will serve as an executive producer on the series, along with Nardino. The series pick up is a part of Wayans Jr. two-year-first-look deal with CBS TV Studios, which was inked when he was selected as a cast member for “Happy Together.”
