Tisha Campbell Martin Claims Duane Martin Physically Abused Her For Years, Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order Against Him

There are many examples of celebrity divorces that ended amicably, allowing the couples to be cordial and co-parent peacefully. However, there are also numerous examples of celebrity divorces so bitter, that things get downright ugly as they proceed to end their marriages. The latest bitter celebrity divorce involves actress Tisha Campbell, her estranged husband, actor Duane Martin, and new claims of physical abuse.

Former Martin star Tisha Campbell and her husband, former All Of Us star Duane Martin, have been in the middle of a very nasty divorce for almost a year…and things just keep getting worse. Campbell has recently revealed new details about the pair’s 20+ year marriage that has her claiming she was physically abused by Martin for years.

Campbell has filed a restraining order against Martin after she says he was physically abusive to her back in December 2018, when she said he

“grabbed me by my arm to try to get me in the bedroom.”

She also filed a police report earlier this month regarding multiple alleged physical altercations, including one instance where she stated that Martin punched her in the chest with a closed fist.

In the documents filed by Campbell, she states that Martin started physically, emotionally and mentally abusing her at the start of their marriage in 1996. She says he taunted her about her weight and said that her inability to land roles was because of her weight gain.

A judge has officially granted Campbell the requested temporary restraining order against Martin, which requires that he must stay at least 100 yards away from her at all times.

When asked why she decided to speak up about the alleged abuse she suffered from Martin after years of being silent, she said:

“I can no longer live in fear of retaliation … the need [to] press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.”
