“Atlanta’s” 3rd Season Delayed For 2nd Time
“Atlanta’s” Third Season Premiere Delayed For the Second Time
Sad news for “Atlanta” fans. FX CEO John Landgraf says the third season of “Atlanta” is being delayed, again.
The initial delay was due to creator/star Donald Glover‘s role as Simba in the upcoming live action remake of “The Lion King.”
The latest delay is, partly, due to the same reason. John Landgraf explained,
“Donald Glover is sort of the king of all media, and he just has had an incredibly complicated life. He’s had personal things he’s had to deal with, from injuries to other things I’d rather not say publicly that just have to do with not with his personal life but his extended family.”
This means that the third season of “Atlanta” won’t air in time for the Emmy’s. But, the FX CEO would rather not rush greatness. He continued:
“We have so many programs that don’t cycle back on an annual basis. You have to make a decision about quality over quantity and we’re erring on the side of quality.”
What we know about the Emmy award-winning series’ third season is that it may be based on a female point of view. Donald Glover’s brother, Stephen Glover – head story editor for the series – said this last year:
“I think the city of Atlanta has a lot of stories from the woman’s point of view, and there’s a very specific perspective from Atlanta women that I think we’re gonna explore in season three.”
Will we ever get to see the third season of “Atlanta?”
