Lena Waithe Will Executive Produce New Showtime Comedy Anthology Series “How To Make Love To A Black Woman”
Premium cable network Showtime has given the greenlight for a new show about a comedy anthology series called “How To Make Love To A Black Woman (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t).” Lena Waithe, creator and executive of Showtime’s “The Chi” will executive produce the impending series which will be written by Cathy Kisakye.
Kisakye said about the project:
With ‘How To Make Love,’ I’m thrilled to tell stories about the women I know, who are complicated, passionate, resilient and relatable.
The half-hour anthology show will be an assemblage of multi-part episodes which will include new characters who tell stories about connection and rejection while exploring explore our deepest sexual secrets.
Waithe stated:
Cathy’s script is haunting, funny, and extremely vulnerable – it’s the kind of script that doesn’t come around very often. I’m honored that Cathy trusts me with such a special project. I can’t wait for the world to see it.
Kisakye also wrote on Waithe’s “The Chi,” which premiered in 2018. ‘How to Love’ will be a part of Waithe’s first look deal she inked with the Showtime network in July 2018. Along with Waithe, Kisakye and Rishi Rajani will executive produce.
“The Chi” is slated to return April 7.
