Will Smith To Play Venus & Serena Williams Dad In ‘King Richard’

Will Smith is poised to play another real life subject. According to reports, the 50-year-old actor will play Serena and Venus Williams’ father, Richard Williams.

Richard is known for being instrumental for the success of the twins successful tennis careers.

Will will reportedly take on the role in an upcoming film called King Richard. The project will be produced by Tim White and Trevor White, along with Will’s Overbrook Entertainment company.

This isn’t Will’s first time playing a lead in a biopic. In 2001, he played Muhammad Ali in Ali and in 2006 he played stockbroker Chris Gardner in The Pursuit of Happyness.

He received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actor for both of these projects.

Will recently turned down his reprising role in Suicide Squad, according to reports.
