Bill Cosby Slams Insurance Company For Settling Another Lawsuit: They Are Despicable!
Bill Cosby Slams Insurance Company For Settling Another Lawsuit
For the second time in less than a month, currently imprisoned legendary actor/activist/comedian Bill Cosby is slamming the insurance company responsible for settling another lawsuit against him.
Earlier this month, despite initial reports stating otherwise, Bill Cosby denied that he had reached a settlement in an ongoing defamation case. He even accused insurance company AIG of “corruption” and his representative released an official statement regarding his stance on the matter.
The previous statement read:
“Mr. Cosby did not settle any cases with anyone. He is not paying anything to anyone, and he is still pursuing his counterclaims. AIG decided to settle these cases, without the knowledge, permission and/or consent of Mr. Cosby. Mr. Cosby vehemently denies the allegations brought against him in these defamation suits and he maintains his innocence.”
Now, Cosby is once again at odds with AIG and is furious that they have decided to settle another assault lawsuit. In a new statement released through his representatives, Cosby slammed the decision, citing the defendant Chloe Goins’ story of being assaulted by him was reportedly
“made up.”
The statement detailed:
“AIG’s conduct is despicable and I can only imagine how terribly they’re treating their policyholders, who don’t have my means and my resources. It was proven by the Los Angeles Police Department that I was not at the Playboy Mansion on the date in question, and was not in the State of California. This woman’s supposed friend confirmed that she made up this story by denying that they knew her [Goins] and, most importantly, denying that they visited the Playboy Mansion with her.”
The LAPD confirms Cosby’s assertion that Goins’ claims of being assaulted by him were proven to be untrue. They submitted Goins’ case to LA County D.A. Jackie Lacey’s office in late 2015, around the time Goins sued Cosby in civil court. When it was indicated that Cosby wasn’t at Hugh Hefner’s house or even on the West Coast that night in 2008, the D.A. office decided in 2016 that it would not be pursuing the case largely due to “insufficient evidence” to prove the matter “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Back in February 2016, Goins withdrew her case when a supposed settlement had been reached. However, Cosby pursued his own legal action, and the case continued through the court system. Ironically, Cosby was scheduled to give a jailhouse deposition about Goins’ case next week.
