Wendy Show Says Kevin Hunter Is ‘No Longer An Executive Producer’
Wendy Williams’ estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, is no longer an executive producer on her talk show. A spokesperson for the show confirmed the news stating,
“Kevin Hunter is no longer an executive producer on ‘The Wendy William’s Show.'”
The talk show was created and hosted by Wendy Williams and produced by Wendy Williams Productions and distributed by Debmar-Mercury. The show aired starting July 14, 2008 in select major U.S. markets and July 13, 2009 nationwide.
The show’s executive producers initially included Kevin Hunter Sr, along with Wendy, David Perler, Suzanne Bass and Talia Parkinson-Jones.
Earlier this week, there were reports that Kevin and Wendy, were in the process of reaching an agreement for him to step down. It was later reported that he had been axed from the show and that he had been ordered to remove his belongings from their New Jersey home.
Kevin’s EP news comes after Wendy filed for divorce. Earlier this week, Kevin released a statement apologizing publicly to Wendy.
“28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally. I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans. I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.”
He adds,
No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine. I ask that you please give me and my family privacy as we heal. Thank you.”
Wendy seemingly referenced her broken marriage on her talk show Monday.
Williams, 54, and Hunter, 46, wed on Nov. 30, 1997. They have a 19-year-old son Kevin Jr.
Rumors of infidelity plagued Kevin. Neither have yet to reveal what ended their marriage. Wendy has yet to comment publicly about Kevin’s departure as EP.
