Oprah Shuts Down Saks Fifth Avenue, Buys $10k Wedding Dress For Former Student
Oprah Winfrey decided to spread her wealth by gifting one of the former students at her school in South African a wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials.
According to reports, Winfrey recently took three of the graduates from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa wedding dress shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills and shut down the store to the public. The $10,000 dress in question received Winfrey’s approval and she also reportedly treated the three women present to lunch at the exclusive Beverly Hills restaurant Spago afterwards.
There were photos from the shopping event and in one of them Winfrey wrote the following caption:
“I’ve known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school. Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding. Looking for the perfect dress.”

The South African all-girls boarding school was established back in 2007 and recently Winfrey stated that she may be interested in opening up a version of the school here in the United States.
