Kurtis Blow Having Emergency Open Heart Surgery, According To Russell Simmons
Some alarming news concerning Kurtis Blow’s condition. According to Russell Simmons, the rap legend has to have emergency open heart surgery. Simmons shared the news on social media writing:
F*ck, Captain Kurt damn!!! He just informed me that prayers are needed again. Please put @kurtisblow back into your prayers. He has been called to emergency open heart surgery. Kurtis Blow is a survivor, but this is not good. I say this to all who loved his music, his heart is bigger than his music. His family is a testimony to his goodness. His loving wife of at least 35 years and beautiful children are examples of his willingness to give. Let’s all give him the prayers and our blessings.
Last week, Kurtis shared that he needed to have heart surgery.
He later updated fans on his condition, writing on social media:
“Hello my family and friends. The surgery was a tremendous success- Praise God!! Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes!!! Wow!!! I am so humbled by all the love!!!! To God be the Glory!!!! God Bless you all!!!!”
The initial procedure for Blow’s heart was to stabilize the artery from further damage caused by the hematoma.
In 2016, during a family dispute, the rapper suffered a heart attack at his home in Los Angeles. Fortunately, as Blow went into cardiac arrest, the police were in the area and soon after, paramedics arrived and rushed walked to a hospital.
Blow told reporters after his heart attack in 2016 he could have died without the aid of police being on scene.
“They got there so fast. If they got there any later, I would have died. I want to thank the officers from the bottom of my heart, no pun intended.”
We will keep Kurtis in our prayers!
