Did Jerrod Carmichael Come Out During Special? Actor Admits, ‘I’ve Hooked Up With Dudes Before”
Comedian, actor and producer Jerrod Carmichael gave a bit of insight about his sexuality, during his recent HBO special, “Home Videos.” In the two-part special, Jerrod took a trip back home to North Carolina, and had intimate conversations with several of his family members. Perhaps the most shocking conversation was with his mother, Cynthia. While reflecting on being cheated on by her husband, the “Carmichael Show” creator/star asked if she’d ever been attracted to women. He, then, opened up about his own sexuality – seemingly coming out. Jerrod Carmichael casually said:
“I’ve hooked up with dudes before.”
His mother responded:
“Well, OK. That’s your option. I like men.”

In the series, he also speaks to family members about interracial relationships, R. Kelly, and other aspects of the Black experience.
The airdate for the second episode of Jerrod Carmichael’s “Home Videos” has not yet been announced.
