Lil Nas X Snags Partnership With Wrangler, Country Fans Threaten To Boycott
Old Town Road is the gift that keeps on giving for rapper Lil Nas X. The country music and hip-hop mashup featuring country sensation Billy Ray Cyrus received lots of backlash from the country community.
But Lil Nas X is still making his mark in the industry.
He teamed up with popular denim line, Wrangler, for his own line. This reportedly is thanks to a lyric in the song that says,
“Cowboy hat from Gucci, Wrangler on my booty.”

Wrangler also announced the news on Instagram.

Still, while this is a major win, some country fans aren’t happy about Lil Nas X’s move. Some even threatened to stop wearing the brand.

Lil Nas responded to the backlash on Twitter.
“y’all really boycotting wrangler?? is it that deep”

Threats of a boycott haven’t stopped the success. The high-waist shorts sold out the first day.
