Wendy Williams Reveals She Was Diagnosed With Lymphedema ‘It’s Not Going To Kill Me, But I Do Have A Machine’

Wendy Williams has been diagnosed with lymphedema, she told her daytime talk show audience upon her return from a six-week hiatus Monday.

She revealed the news as she was talking about Marc Tomblin, a 27-year-old man she had been spotted with shortly after filing for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter in April.

Williams said,

“So Marc is new to New York and he’s having panic attacks. I’m unsteady on my feet. I’ve got the vertigo. And lymphedema, by the way. I’ve been diagnosed.”

She went on to reassure fans,

“It’s not going to kill me, but I do have a machine.”

The disease is described as swelling caused by excess fluid in body tissue. Williams then joked with her audience, pointing out that lots of people pointed out her swollen legs in photos of her and Tomblin.

“And how dare you talk about the swelling of it all! It’s lymphedema. And I’ve got it under control.”

We’ve seen Williams struggle with her health ever since she fainted on her show in October 2017.

It was certainly a scary moment but all seemed well until December 2018.  Williams apologized to fans for a “less than stellar” show as she suffered a hairline fracture in her arm.

She then went on a scheduled two-week break for the holiday season and was slated to return in early January, but it was postponed multiple times as a statement was released concerning Williams’ struggle with Graves disease.

“Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ disease that will require treatment. Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital. Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being. Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and The Hunter Family’s privacy during this time.”

She made her highly-anticipated return on March 4.

But shortly after, she also revealed more health issues and said she had been living in a sober house.

In March, she filed for divorce from her husband of more than 20 years, Kevin Hunter.

It looks like she’s now on the road to a full recovery.
